WESTERN The American west is a land of austere beauty and brutal contrasts. From its lush alpine forests and meadows to its wide expanses of arid rock-strewn deserts, the west is full of incredible sights and vistas. This country is also full of reminders of man's attempts to rob every ounce of wealth from the earth, and a legacy of waste and destruction.
